Jason is establishing himself as an internationally renowned young tenor. Born in Pennsylvania, he began his musical training at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He continued his education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow on the MMus Opera Masters program.

There, Jason was awarded the International Scholarship for Opera Singers. Vocal instructors throughout his studies include Seth McCoy, Dale Moore, Peter Alexander Wilson and Nicolai Gedda.

Soon after his studies, Jason was accepted into the Atelier Lyrique, young artist program of the Opéra National de Paris. In his second year of the program, Jason was awarded the Prix AROP as the young artist program’s outstanding male voice.

Jason has been seen in opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe and the United States. The list of conductors he has worked with include Roberto Abbado, Seymon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, James Conlon, Hartmut Haenchen, Thomas Hengelbrock, Alexander Lazarev, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, and Carlo Rizzi.

Notable operatic roles include the title roles in both Candideand Albert Herring, Gernando in Haydn’s Isola Disabitata, Ferrando in Cosi Fan Tutte, Pylade in Iphigénie en Tauride, Renaud in Armide, Tamino in an adaptation of The Magic Flute, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Hussar in Stravinsky’s Mavra, Alfredo in La Traviata, Tybalt in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, Des Grieux in Massenet’s Manon, Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Lyonel in Martha, Prince Sou-Chong in The Land of Smiles, and as Cyrille in the world premiere of Phillipe Boesmans’ opera Yvonne, Princess de Bourgogne.

Most recently, Jason created the role of Lorenzo in the world premiere of The Merchant of Veniceby André Tchaikowsky for the Bregenzer Festspiele.
